Diatoms & Kallwasser

Whats the corrilation between the two.....i've been fighting diatoms since I started this tank off an on. RO/DI water for all uses. ANd dual reactors running GFO and Rowaphos and I still cant get ahead. I keep reading to use kallwasser to help maintain diatom free tanks buts hows it help and is it true?

There is no correlation I know of, unless the water or the lime is contaminated with silicate.
