would the 6 bulb fixture be enough for sps dominate or go with a 8 bulb?

My new tank is the same size and I was recomended the 8 bulb for sps. Go to the Grimreefer's Q&A forum on T5.

you could go with a 6, but an 8 would give you even better coverage front/back, and allow more bulb options.

that looks like my tank too...NO CORALS. Don't get me wrong...I love the light...but having an ATI that covers the whole top of my tank just bleaches everything I put in there...

You MAY want to just get a 6 bulb...or better yet a 8 bulb 24" ATI. Tons of light in the middle but you can ramp up the corals on the sides of the tank. Plus there are plently of beautiful SPS that do not need blasting light.

Just my opinion.
