Tunze 6101 questions

My tank is 4x2x2' 120G, I am looking to replace my 3 x Seio M620 with a Tunze 6101.

One of my main reason for doing it is I find the Seio a pain to use because its small intake gets clogged often and need frequent cleaning. The new Tunze 6065 I have is much better. Now the 6101 appears to be the older design which looks like the Seio, I wonder should I skip it and go for the newer Tunze design?

If I hang the 6101 on the back corner pointing to the other back corner, would I dig a hole in my sand bed? I know I could thottle it down but I'd rather get another 6065 or its slightly stronger brother which I know will work and cheaper. I don't really need the wavemaking capability.

Btw the tank will be an all mushroom tank with at most a few soft corals.
