I want to keep my tank at 79 and I live in New York area. The ambiant room temp can vary form 65 to 85 depending upon the time of year. Some days when AC is not on it can go even higher.
Any suggesitons.

Tradewinds chiller is the top dog for the money, you need to look at the heart of a chiller, the motor. they use the copeland compressor which is the compressor that pepsi and coke machines use as an upgrade in hot or humid locations. i work at pepsi and have seen the copeland last 15+ years in the worst locations with never having there coils cleaned. you can have tradewinds send you one directly very cheap if there is no dealer around you..there liberial on that they consider near. plus there warrenty is the best because the the compressor.

Great, Im going to order one today, 1/3 HP for my 150. The location I have to place it gets a bit hot and Im hoping this one works out better than my Pacific Coast one did which lasted 5 years. (not bad though)

you wont be disapointed, plus they are the only chiller that can be placed inside or outside and not effect your warranty, most compressors will corrode away outdoors but the copeland has very thick copper and soder joints, mine has been plumbed in my garage for 5 years and still runs great

Just orderd my 1/3hp Trade winds chiller. Too bad I even need one but with room temps getting up to 83-85 and my 250 MH heating up the tank I guess its required.
