Treating Ich

I was wondering what type of options I have for treating ich in my tank. I've had my PBT for about a year and everything was good, the one day I noticed ich spot on him/her. No new additions, no changes in water parameters, nothing different done since I've had him/her. Is there any type of medication or vitamin supplement you'd recommend to help him fight it? My tank is a SPS dominated tank with snails, cleaner shrimp and a RBTA. I probably would not be able to catch him to put him in quarantine. Thank in Adavnce.

I would try Selcon. Is it just one spot?

Option one- catch it and treat it

Option two- leave it in, ich is rarely deadly on it's own in a healthy tank. Feed well, manage nitrates, stable temp and params.... good basic husbandry

Option three- buy a bottle of undisclosed organics that require not skimming or using GAC. This can either give you as good of results as option two, or cause stress and make things much worse.

I am from the school of thought that it is better to treat the fish. But if that is really not an option, I think you are better off with basic husbandry than reefsafe ich cures. JMO

I have used Kordon's Ich Attack for VERY minor ich. In minor cases this seemed to do the trick.

If it is a severe case, catch it and treat it.

I read somewhere at a higher temp might help. Currenly I'm from 77.5 - 78.0.
Is that true?

Nope, completely false.
