It looks as though you have it running a little deep. Recomended water level for these cone skimmers is 6-7"

60g clownfish cube, red carpet anemone with a 25g sump,SRO octopus 1000sss, 250w radium, lumenarc large.

I droped it down the water down to about 6 IN

well now that i have been playing with this thing for a day now, how long does it normally take for everthing to set in?

6" inside the skimmer or 6" depth in sump? I meant depth in sump should be 6 in

Every skimmer is different for breaking in. You could put some skimmate in the sump and let it work on that it should speed up the process.
