skimmer making micro bubbles!!!

I have a 20gal tank with a tunze doc nano skimmer in the display (i would like it to be in my sump but the water level down there isnt high enough and it cant get higher) For some reason which i do not know it is producing micro bubbles that arent over taking my tank but its taking away from the attractiveness then it would have without the bubbles. What should i do to get rid of the bubbles? my skimmer is currently unplugged because we're having my fam over tonight and i want it looking perfect so it is minus the bubbles. any kind of fix i can do?

THanks nick

Maybe you could try some filter floss to prevent them from coming back into the tank.
