startinh a 55 gal. skimmerless need some ideas and help
so im basing this on some others i have seen around and i think its really cool but the first thing i need to know about my first piece of equipment it is the ro/di unit is this a good unit? overkill? anyhting out there better priced? and also i see that it has adapters for hooking it up to the sink or hose pipe so does that mean i dont have to hard plumb it in to everything that i could just hook it up and unhook it? jw im clueless on this part more to come about livestock and equipment
ideas and critasism welcome

also i have another question about lighting i guess i should say that i am converting this from a 55 planted tank so i went to my lfs and they sold me a single bulb hagen glo 54watt t5 fixture not knowing that the 2 bulb was only like 20 bucks more. so now im in the situation that i called today and he said that i could grow almost anything with a 2 bulb glo system in a 55 gallon. but then i would have a extra light sitting around so would you recomend running the single and the dual bulb on it or do thing i should upgrade to something like this

You would be fine with BRS 4 stage ro/di and get that nice t5 fixture. What you picked out will work great but I don't see any reason to get the "deluxe" over the 4 stage unless you have some really bad water. And to address your first question, I don't think that the two bulb hagen is going to cut it. Here is a article on lighting:
LINKY BTW, keep the questions coming, and good luck on this great hobby.
