Coraline Breathing?

OK, so in the past few days we've had bubbles forming on the back wall of the tank, specifically in areas where coraline is starting to build up. Is this coming from the algae? Or is it just tank air that's gotten stuck in a coincidental way?

More than likely, it's simple gas exchange from bacteria or algae.
