plumbing ideas for 45g cube

im starting a new ank to house my picassos, its a non drilled marineland 45gal cube tank, 24"x24"x18". Im going to dril the back wall for returns and overflow. My plan is (2) 3/4" return holes on the back left and back right of the tank, and a single 1" hole in the middle near the top for he overflow.

Im not handy with any sketch program so no drawings.

I wish I could build and external overflow and silicone it to the rear of the tank and use it, not sure how I could do that though, unless I use the 1" bulkhead and let it spill over into the external overflow area.

Any ideas? suggestions? pictures of other tanks?

other then having the 1" overflow in the middle with a 90 and screen fitting insde the tank im drawing a blank and open to ideas.
