Marineland aquarium return slot on overflow?

Hello all,

I just recently purchased a marineland 120g and want to plug one of the return slots on the overflow. Just wondering what it is called and how I go about finding it. It has a little grove that appears to fit a piece of plastic to close off that spot.

Here is a picture of what I want to close off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

-Matthew

I dunno, but in the interim you might consider cutting the plastic lid of a coffee can or similar to fit.

It's just a hole. I don't think there is any specific name for it. Your best bet is to build something to cover it, or call marineland and see if they carry something.

Even if the tank was new the "plug" to cover that is held on with three little plastic tabs, to make it easier for the user to cut them off for the return plumbing. So basically they weren't meant to ever be water tight. Could probably glue a small piece of black acrylic on it but if you are running your water level halfway up the teeth in the overflow, it's probably a moot issue anyway.
