Poll on BB
So I am moving in a few days just s few blocks and I have been pondering on whether or not to go BB. My sandbed now is about 2-3 inches in my 40 breeder which has been running for about 9 months. Its has a built in wet dry which I turned into refugium along with holding my skimmer and return pump. I think if done right BB has a very clean look to it so just wanted peoples opinions and pros and cons thanks.

BB soon becomes coralline bottomed. Missing that I can't have a pistol shrimp/goby pair but can't see going back to sand.
Is interesting when people see the my tank (reefers included), it's usually quite a well before they'll comment 'no sand', if they notice at all.

I'll never go back to sand. No one has ever commented on the absence of sand. When breaking down a previous tank and seeing what had collected in the sandbed over the years, I was convinced that this was the way to go. I was religious about maintenance and vacuuming the sand, but when a reef grows in, it's extremely difficult to get everywhere. I'm not saying it's for everybody, but it is very easy to clean, covers in coralline, and allows for some impossible flow possibilities when a sandbed is present.
