Chemi-Pure cleaning question

I put a bag of Chemi-Pure elite in my solana tank in place of the blue sponge in top 2nd chamber. I have had it in tank for just 4 days now. Today the water in my tank started to rise do to water not passing through the Chemi-Pure fast enough.

Should i be rinsing the chemi every few days or something?

I am not sure what you mean, chemi is the only thin in there that cleans the water. There is the black filter sponge as the water 1st enters the chambers. Then in the 2nd chamber I have the chemi.

I also have a Solana...

I don't use Chemi-Pure, but it sounds like it is getting crud in it, increasing the resistance to flow, which in turn causes the level in display portion to rise. Same thing has happened to me with bags of carbon and/or GFO, when placed on top grid in second chamber.

I don't know of a good solution in a Solana to get good flow through media, without using some sort of media reactor (ie, external, where water is pumped through it).

With other filter media (filter floss), I try to size/orient it so that if the water can't flow through easily, it goes over the top of it, and flows down through the grid (black thing with holes in it).

I think the other suggestion was to put it in the 3rd chamber, where the return pump is.

Bryan
