Octopus NWB 150
This is the skimmer I'm looking at. With that said would the Eshopps PF300 be a good overflow for it or would I need to jump up to the PF800 which I think might be to big.

Im not sure i understand? are you trying to run an overflow from the tank strait to your skimmer or is your skimmer in your sump?

Maybe I am misunderstanding things. I thought the overflow went on back of the main tank, plumbed down to the sump, goes through the chambers, and then through the skimmer back into the main tank. Am I wrong on that thought pattern?

no the skimmer sits in the sump. Skimmer is not part of the water flow pattern...Think of it as a filter that filters the water. You need a return pump. That is what sends water back to tank.

Got it. So the overflow sends water down to the sump, goes through the baffles/fuge, into the skimmer, then out to the tank through a return pump. The skimmer pump just mixes the water and bubbles for the skimmer to work. I need a pump that works with a overflow that are about the same size or slightly larger. Thanks.

You can add a gate valve (don't use a ball valve, Gate valves have finner adjustment) to the return feed, so u can balance the return flow to the inlet flow if you need to.
