Excess skimmer bubbles

I have a HOB skimmer/fuge and up until tonight it has been working great. However, it just started making a ton more bubbles and now they're flowing right down and through the bubble trap. Is this a problem? Could someone explain why the bubbles are a big deal in the fuge/DT.

Thank you very much.

Also, I just added two nassarius snails and just fed them some mysis shrimp. I was reading that adding inverts may have this effect on your skimmer bubbles...

Any info on all of this would be awesome. But also I would like to understand the reason why bubbles in the fuge/DT are not a good thing.

Bubbles are unsightly and they can irritate the skin on fish. Why would you feed snails mysis shrimp?

they're nassarius snails and my LFS told me that's what I can feed them since I have no fish at the moment. I didn't want them to starve....

Yes, it is. About one month old now. Although, my skimmer was already broken in and working correctly. This all started to happen after I introduced the snails. It seems to have lessened today, as well.
