Sand Type?
What are the pros and cons of different sand types? I am not trying decide what type to buy and really don't know my options.

Depends what you want to accomplish. If you have burrowing animals you need to have some larger pieces in the mix to avoid "cave ins" If you are going to have sand sifters, they will appreciate very fine sand. One post I read on here today mentioned that coarse substrate tends to hide the gunk between cleanings by finding its way in between particals, whereas it will sit on top of fine substrate and really show between cleanings. Hope that helps

The real fine sand will become a dust storm everytime you clean or rearrange something too.
