Over feeding?
How do you know if you are over feeding? I have a new tank. Reef tank. Have had fish in it for maybe 3 months now. I think I'm over feeding. But when I put frozen mysis in they sink and land on the bottom before they all get eaten, same with some flakes if I'm feeding flake food. I switch it up on food.
I have a large CUC and anything that lands on the bottom gets eaten, so does that mean I'm not over feeding if I can't see stuff build up on the bottom?

I think ususally you can tell if you start getting excessive algae growth, but I am no expert. For me the two go hand in hand.

How much you feed is really up to you. Some people feed as little as every other day up to three times a day. As long as you are not seeing negative effects within your tank (excessive algae growth) i wouldnt worry bout it. However, IMO i would tend to lean toward the more conservative feeding to help keep the nitrate levels in the tank as low as possible.
