RO/DI question

I have just bought a RO/DI from a fellow reefer and I will not be using it as much as he did. The cartridges are new but it is a 150gpd and I just won't use any where near that much. I have heard that it ruins the cartridges if you don't use them every day is that true? If it is, what can I do to help since I won't be using it every day.

I'm not sure about ruining cartridges but as long as there is always water in it you will be ok,

I think if you use it at least once every other week or so you should be fine.

I have had mine for a few years and I have never used mine every day maybe once every week or 2 sometimes I have not used it for a month with no ill effects. I think you just herd some bad advice.

The instructions on mine say to flush it if not used for 3 days or more. I use mine every 1-2 weeks.
