Aqueon Circulation Pump - Reviews?
http://www.aqueonproducts.com/produc...tion-pumps.htm
HI , just wondering if anybody has been using these Aqueon Circulation Pumps? Not sure if they are wavemaker-safe. How are they comparing to the Hydro Koralia Evo? Seems like majority of the individual LFS is not carrying them.. of course PETCO is though. Anybody? Thanks, |

I've heard they work well with wavemakers but the larger ones start up pretty rough. I've seen them run in LFS displays and they say the run great. Excellent water flow too - beats the hell out of Korallia pumps and smaller.
I'd like to hear some more as well though since I'm considering a couple of 950's. For some reason it's really tough to get opinions on these pumps.

I have only been using the largest size 2450 or something like that, it actually give too much flow in my 120G, previously I run 3 x Koralia 4.
Have not run them on wavemaker yet. |

tried a short stint (about 5 minutes) on a soft start wavemaker, and they start up too rough (like an old Koralia 4), wouldn't recommend it.

actually after using it for a few months, I would not even recommend them being used on a wavemaker at all. Even stand-alone usage, the GPS-like holding mechanism do not hold tight enough and drops maybe once every month or two, let alone the constantly on/off action.

I agree with the stick on problem. Will not stick to my back wall on my JBJ. Rough start up.

I have two 1250s and I'm very happy with them. I have them cycling on and off, controlled by an Apex. They're slightly quieter on startup than the Koralia Evolution 1400s and make no noise after startup. I've never had one lose its grip either.
