The eshopps HOB skimmers (psk-75h and psk-100h) seem to be rather popular right now. I am looking for one and the are backordered all over the place. Im sure you will hear that the octpus HOB is good and maybe even the CPR. I currently have a Remora, which IMO is a good skimmer, just not amazing. I get a black skimate although it isnt super thick.

Hopoe this gives you some ideas, good luck.

I am running the Octo bh2000 on a 30 cube and have been happy with it.

Best bang for the buck IMO is the Eshopps HOB skimmers. They work great right out of the box and pull nice thick dark skimate.

The new octopus HOB skimmers with the bubble blaster pumps would be one of the best. I am running the eschopps psk-75h and it does indeed skim DARK nasty stuff right out of the box. Pretty impressed with it, other than having to make a stand to lift it 1" off the tank because it was too deep hard to control water level, and the collection cup could stand to be bigger, have to empty it every 2days.

It works well, but honestly on your tank I would recommend the BH-1000. It works great and most everything is external.
