I am using parts from BRS to make my 75 GPD RO/DI. How long things lasts depends more on your water quality, pressure & temp. Having said that the filters have lasted longer than the Coralife parts I originally had

I'm using the 6 stage. I personally change all my filter media around a year. But it all depends on where you live and how dirty you water is. The BRS refills are cheap, so it's just easier.

either way it is still a good idea to change the carbon and sediment filters every 6 months regardless of how well they are still working
