Ushio Bulbs

I currently have a Hamilton hood with dual 250w Mogul base bulbs and dual Actinic Vho's. I have been running 15k XM bulbs and they gave off a pretty nice color but corals grew quite slow. I just got some ushio 14k's and put them in. They are very bright but seem quite yellow. Is this typical? I was under the impression they would be mostly white with a slight tint of blue. My corals look very dull right now. Is there a break-in period that they need to bring them to their true color? Just wondering.

All the reds and greens have gone to brown. I think they are going back and I am going to try the 20000k Radiums. I've heard they have a blue tint and still give good growth. If I'm wrong someone please tell me.

Have you looked into the Phoenix 250w bulbs. I have had great results plus that are only $49. Here is the link. http://www.soslightbulbs.com/aquariumbulbs.aspx

Ooh, I didn't realize the Phoenix bulbs came in SE. I think I still like the radiums a little more though. The two are definitely my favorite 2 MH bulbs.

Bulbs are out. They just weren't what I was looking for color wise. I have the XM's back in now and what a difference. The Ushios were much brighter but very white /yellow. I want a bright bulb for coral growth but also want the color of the corals to pop too. Many of the tanks I've seen on this sight are lit with radiums and I haven't heard any complaints. I've never used a 20000k bulb before so I hope it isn't too purple. I will order the radiums today.
