How do I get coralline algae off the glass

Without trashing the glass?

Please tell me there's an option besides a bare straight razor...

Kent scraper. It comes in a short and long handle form. The blades are replaceable.

You can get single edge razor blades in boxes of a hundred or so. The single edge version has a cover on one side so that you don't slice your fingers open when you scrape. They are cheap enough to throw away when they rust. Look in any hardware department by the paint scrapers.

What about oil on the razors used in manufacturing contaminating the tank? I've only got a 14g. Should I soak 'em in degreaser or something?

normal soap & water should be fine. make sure you rinse the blades in tap water after use and dry them with a towel after each use or they will rust in no time flat. i also assume that you have a glass tank. if it is an acrylic tank you need to be very very very carefull. they scratch verrrrry easily.

if you use a magnetic type cleaner on the tank on a regular type of basis it will help prevent future buildup. preventative maintenence so to speak. an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. a lot of ppl do daily magnet cleaning....... or so they say. i have found that i slide quite a bit tho.....lol

Straight razors are absolutely safe to use on your glass. I know it sounds like its going to do damage, but its actually kinda hard to scratch the glass unless you dig the corner in or something.

I do daily magnet cleaning but I goofed and put some LR pieces that are a little too large into my tank so there's areas I just can't get well. The crabs tend to pick those areas clean though.
