Why not step up to a 75? Same length as a 55, so you won't need a new fixture, and its a bigger tank. Just saying....
But it sounds like you are well on your way to a nice reef. |

i was just woundering if i should rinse my live sand that i have been storing in a bin with saltwater? i am getting my ro/di system wed. so i am going to fill the tank but i dont want to make a mistake by putting bad sand into the tank. the sand has been sitting in the bin for almost 4 months. is that bad or is it ok? i need to know because i do not want to make a mistake?

Well, I am running two evolutions 750 gph. I thought those were too much flow.. How are you doing with two 1500gphs?
And a 6 bulb t5 fixture over a 55g tank? Don't 2 bulbs hang over the edge of the tank? I was told by a light company that a 6 bulb fixture would not look right on a 55g tank. It would overhang by 4 or 5"? |

there is a lot of flow but it is not too much, i have it like a wirlpool. and there is no bulbs hanging over the edge of the tank. and it looks fine on the tank, it looks pretty good imo. |
