CUC Save Me !!

Last week, just as the first hints of green were appearing in my 3 week old tank I ordered a CUC from Reef Scavengers. Since then my tank has exploded with flowing green algea on the rock, sand and glass. Reef Scavengers isn't shipping my order until Tuesday, I hope my tank will make it. One thing 's for sure my CUC will be fat and happy.

You should be running phosban. If its growing hair algae already it sounds like there are some phosphate issues.

Where did you get the rock?

A clean up crew will not remove the nutrients that grow algae. Think of them as a mulching lawn mower.

"I hope my tank will make it"
Your tank has nothing in it. Your tank is 3 weeks old, this is called the cycle. Have you checked the ammonia and nitrite levels, if not it may be a short lived CUC. Let your cycle run it's course and then do a water change to remove the extra nutrients from the tank.

+1 on above your tank is just cycling dont run phosban yet, and dont do a water change either not till your cycle is done. Have you been checking your levels thruout your cycle? and what are they now.

I have been checking my levels every other day for 3 weeks and everything is at 0. I have 5 lbs LR and 25lbs Dry. Lots of new coralline algae growth as well. Plus being at week three of my cycle I think this is pretty normal and will get better

Just an update, my CUC arrives tomorrow, but I am not sure what help it will be. Things seem to be getting out of control

What is the source of the water are you using? Are you using RO water or tap?

Distilled, I am thinking of changing out 8g in a 29g BC which only holds about 20g, maybe that will help
