Water from old tank?

I upgraded my 10g to a 29g. I used about 1/4 of old water and 1/2 cup of old sand to seed the tank. During the upgrade my salinity was above the roof, so i took out 10 gallons of water and replace it with top off water. I am ready to do a water change and was wondering if i can use the 10 gallons i took out. Since it has some bacteria of my old water and sand in it, wanted to know if it was ok. (Tried to explain the best i can)

If it's been sitting for days, then I would just dump it and mix up some new, especially considering you're only dealing with 10 gallons. You don't want to have to worry about what was in there.

I agree, ditch it if you have had it a while

Yup. I would not use it. You're wanting to do water changes to replace old with ne not old with old. With small tanks it's too easy to accidentally do something bad to the tank so play it safe and go with new.

Thanks, I'll use fresh SW. Just bought a 50g bag of Reef Crystals, never used this brand before. I always used oceanic. Hope my corals like it.
