Adding minerals back with an R/O unit?

I now have no choice but to use R/O water in my tanks, because my tap water (well water) has 35 mg/l of nitrAte. I have a coralife superflow II and just ordered new replacement canisters. My question- what kind of "packets" or whatever do I need to replace minerals and stuff back into the tank? And where can I get one?? Thanks.

You don't need to add anything to the RO/DI water -- just use it as it (( of course adding salt when doing a water change. ))

I've read multiple times that long term use of R/O unit with no minerals kills fish, because they cant maintain a correct metabolism and so they made add-in packets?? Or am I completely off.

To be blunt -- completely off. For the most part, everything needed will be added to the water when you make up your salt water (( use straight RO/DI for top offs )).

Of course if you get into corals, you might have to add Cal, Alk, and Mag, but that is a different subject.

I have been using RO/DI water for at least 10 years -- without adding anything to it -- and everything is going great.

Yes, the minerals are in the salt mix. No need to add anything else. What you have heard may apply to freshwater tanks, but don't quote me on that one...
