Angry Catch a Sally Lightfoot??

Oook so a friend bought a crab for my tank, which turns out to be a sally lightfoot... Everything seemed ok but now my watchman goby is missing and I think I know who ate him So does anyone out there know a good way to catch them with out destroying my tank? I tried luring it with some shrimp and then grab it with tongs since I have soooo much LR but any solutions will be tried at this point! Stupid crab, but stupid me for putting it in there....

get a glass jar. put food at the bottom of the jar. The crab will be able to get in to get the food but won't be able to climb out.

On the other hand, though, I don't think that your crab killed the YWG. These fish are pretty good at taking care of themselves.

+1 on the glass jar trick, it took me a few tries to get it at the right angle where the thing could get in it, and it still couldn't get out. A jar with a smaller mouth seems to help also.

I will have to try that then! As for the goby he was doing great until the crab went in and I saw it stalking the poor thing but now has disappeared

Hopefully the goby is just hiding very well. I had a sally lightfoot that got pretty big, and I used a clear tall tea glass with some shrimp in the bottom, leaned up against the rocks as was mentioned. The crab was in the glass within 5 min. I put it in the sump, and it disappeared a few days later!

Good luck on catching it!
