tank stocking list
hey guys, as some of you know im starting a 50 gallon tank, and now im looking for fish. ive posted a thread once, but no1 answered my question, even though i bumped it a few times. so here we go, i hope someone answers
stats: 50 gallon show acrylic rounded corners with corner overflow 500 watts of MH 20 gallon sump possible 10 gallon refuge or its a ATO 7.5 gallon show 70 watts MH over 7.5 skimmer undecided, but will get a good one tell me if im missing anything :P ok so ive gone searching for a bit on reef hot spot which is a sponser here and i would like to use them as my dealer when i buy my fish so i look at thier stuff if anyones cared . understand that these are just the fish i like and not even close to what i want, just what i like. here is my long list: main/display fish: Keyhole angel Multibar angel Multicolor angel Nox midnight angel Potters angel Singapore angel Swallowtail angel Clown wartskin angler dwarf lionfish/ I.E. fussy or fu man chu Snowflake eel If i dont go with a centerpiece fish i would like a small school of fish that will swim together, i would like more than 4 preferably 5. schooling fish: Sunshine chromis Javanese neon velvet damsel Red one spot damsel Yellowtail damsel Bangaii cardinal i would like some "action" at the bottom on the tank, i like fish that lay on rock and stuff like that bottom fish: African gold midas blenny Lawnmower blenny Clown goby Neon goby Engineer goby Firefish goby (purple) (could also be a schooling fish if i add a few) Mandarin goby Scissortail dartfish (could also be a schooling fish if i add a few) Blackcap jawfish Twinspot goby Arc eye hawkfish Misc fish, fish that swim in the middle but arent necesarily display or schooling fish misc fish: my B&W clown and my true perc clown purple psudochromis Carpenter flasher wrasse could you help me narrow down some fish that will be to hard to keep, to big for my tank, or anything else. i understand the frogfish, eel, and lionfish are agressive so obviously i wouldnt be putting them with like a bangaii cardinal, i know that kind of stuff. |

With angels you would be lucky to have 2 in the same tank most people have one , if this is your first tank I definitely wouldn't do the lion fish or the eel because of the major bioload issues. I would go three for the schooling fish . The Midas blenny would deffinetly be an awesome addition to your tank . The mandarin goby should be put in after about a year so the goby has enough Copepods to feed on . If anyone would like to critique be my guest . Good luck !

i would only have 1 angel. the lionfish and the eel would probably just be housed with 1 or two other fish, and i plan on high filtration. i dont plan to add a mandarin for a minimum of 6 months, most likely on my birthday in september NEXT year lol.
