Octopus or Deltec?
Hey guys!
My last piece of the puzzle is to get a HOB Skimmer for my 300 litre tank. I have 2 in mind Reef Octopus BH 2000 and Deltec MCE600 I know a majority of people will say go the deltec but i have to keep in mind cost. Will the BH2000 still do the job as i can get it at a good price? Or is the deltec in a league of its own and worth the extra money? Thanks in advance |

IMO, all HOB's are just not worthy. Especially for almost 80 gallons of water. I would get a sump put on it and than stick a insump skimmer as most HOB's are junk. I will say that the Prizm skimmers are better than any of the ones I have used for HOB style.

If you must go HOB, get the Deltec, the Octo can be a real PITA to adjust, clean and keep from leaking.

Thanks guys!
I have to go HOB as i have no room for a sump (juwel cabinet) I will probably go the deltec as it sounds hassle free. |
