Making a coral list!
So I've been trying to find out what corals I want to keep... And I have found some favorites on liveaquaria.com
My personal favorite of all is the Eagle Eye Zoa. I know for sure I want to keep that/ I have a 29g tank that is still in the build process, 20g tall as sump, aquac urchin skimmer, 4x 24" T5HO fixture, 5ish gallon fuge, will be keeping chaeto, planning on 25lb marco dry rock and 5-10lb live rock from the LFS, and a 1.5" sand bed... 1 koralia 2, and 1 koralia evo 750. 300gph (estimated) return pump with head loss. So, with that being said... I love blastos, brain corals (favites is great), candy canes, some LPS appeal to me as well, not as much. I really like purple polyp green birdsnests, and then i even like Ricordea... So... What CAN I keep, knowing I must have the Eagle Eye Zoa lol... Thanks for the advice! -Scott |

What kind of lights do you have? Bulb types and watts. The only concern would be the birdnest sps. Everything else will be fine. The main thing is the right placement of the coral.

Pure actinic has a really low PAR reading although a beautiful color.
u may loose out on the growth and get better coloration, if you want more growth, switch the pure actinic to day light or another blue+ but in general u should be fine with all for now, |

Thanks for the info! So I then could get away with a good mixed reef? Keeping most anything I want? I plan to have one section of rock that will get somewhat close to the surface in order to have a place to put more light sensitive corals... As for the pure actinic, I thought it seemed pretty dim, i'll hold onto it for now and see if I have an issue with growth, and if things seem to go really slow, or seem like not enough light is getting there, then ill take that bulb out and replace it with daylight till things are a bit older, then put it back in to fluoresce (sp?) again... I want to order my rock soon so I can get it clean and ready to go! But I still have to build my plumbing system... One part will be ordered soon =) ![]() |
