JBJ Viper with Radium 20K

I am looking to upgrade my bulb in my 150 watt JBJ Viper lamp and I have heard great things about the Radium bulb. I do not want to spend the money to find out that it will not fire up. The viper comes with a Magnetic ballest however I am not sure if it is a pulse start. Does anyone know if the radium will fire up using this ballest. Thanks!

Yes it will. I run this combo. The viper uses an m102 ballast. The radium is designed for a m81. Only difference is m81 has higher starting voltage. But mine had no problem firing the radium.

I have mine on the 12 gallon JBJ nano cube. I think it is about 13-14 inches high. I got the 150 watt K2 viper with the fan. I love it, it is very easy to install and the fan helps in the summer. I don't have AC in the room where the tank is and the fan keeps the temp around 80 even when it is 90 or above outside. The only thing I am not satisfied with is the stock 14k bulb.
