UV or Ozon filtration
I want to start performing water changes using natural sea water.
Now someone adviced me to run it through one of the mentioned filter media to avoid Ick that might be in it? Now doesnt UV or Ozon beat the purpose of using natural seawater killing all natural effects in it as well? please advise |

Either will work to an extent but neither is 100% fool proof. You have to replace the UV bulbs frequently and most of the systems available do not have a 100% kill rate, so I would lean towards ozone. A simpler option we used in the "good old days” when dinosaurs roamed the earth is store the water for 6 weeks before using it.
