Moving My aquarium

Well, I'm moving my 29G aquarium next month and I wondered if anyone has any advice. I moved a 15 before and all went ok. But now I have a deep sand bed and I'm thinking of getting rid of it--it's only 3 mos old. Can you move an aquarium with 70lbs of sand in it or will it break?

Plan on taking all the rock and water out obviously.

thanks!

I would not move a tank with that much sand in it, you could easily bust a seam. It is also a bad idea to disrupt a DSB, yours is only 3 months old so I dont know how much of an issue it may actually be since it is still developing but I wouldnt risk it. I would take all the sand out with the move and then rinse it real well before reusing it, maybe just use half and do a SSB.

You can move it with the sand in it but it could cause a leak also plan on it adding around 300 pounds at least wet sand is very heavy.

If you move with sand in the tank cut a 1" thich piece of plywood to fit inside the bottom edge and then only lift with plywood like a false bottom.

do not move it with the sand in it. Take out all of the live stock, and move the tank. Replace the tank with a shallow sand bed or none at all. JMO
