Question lighting question

I have a 20 gal tank with 2 actinic blue t5s and 2 12,000k t5s, both 24" coming out to 96 watts. I am wondering what kind of corals i can keep with this lighting? should i only stick to low/med light corals? thank you

You should be able to keep most anything with that set up. You may need to keep SPS and/or anemones up closer to the top of the tank, but even they should be okay there. You may want to change out one of the actinics to a ATI Aquablue special bulb (for more growth) or a KZ Fugi Purple bulb (for better color).

so if i were to keep corals that need more light or anemones they just need to be closer to the light.. makes sense.

does it matter where you keep non-photosynthetic corals?

Honestly, I think you will have problems keeping SPS, anemones and high light corals with those lights. I know 96 watts seems like a lot over only a 20 gallon, but it's still only 96 watts. I have a 96 watt PC over a 10 gallon and high light corals aren't too happy in there.

I would stick with softies and moderate light LPS. Putting an anemone in a 20 gallon is sketchy anyway, regardless of your lights.

It is true that T5s put out more PAR in general than PCs. But you also can't overlook the reflectors as being the most important part of T5s.

What kind of T5s are they? A fixture? Retro kit?
