UV Sterilizers
How effective are uv sterilizers? There is such a price difference. I don't want to buy junk, but then again I don't have a couple grand either. Can anybody tell me what variables play into the effectiveness of sterilizers? Are the cheaper models really worth it?

what are you looking to accomplish with the UV? If you are just looking for water clarification most of the "cheap" ones will work fine. I have a 13w submariner on my 100g system and it keeps the water crystal clear. The turbo twists work very well from what I have heard too.

UV lights have been debated many times... I use a 40watt on my 150G. Clarity and killing parasites is my number one focus for adding the unit. Some believe in them some do not. So you will get mixed feelings about them.
