Aquascapeing
Hey guys, now that im ventureing into my 125g i would like to learn more about aquascapeing. due to my 75g just has big live rock stacked. i would like a stronger environement. One where i could make a massive ground cave for my bamboo shark and then many little caves sitting on top of that one. I was told i could use lexan or egg crate? Then someone told me to use a pvc pipe structure? anyone have any good sites or how tos or ideas i could steal ( i mean barrow ) . I really wanna make this tank beautiful which first starts with the rockwork.

I used eggcrate in my 125. I put a base of it down that is covered with the sand. You can use plastic zip ties to create the basic shape and then drill holes in rocks and zip tie them to the structure. Plan ahead, don't assemble a big heavy structure that you can't get into the tank because of the center brace! Try to cover the eggcrate completely, it takes a long time to encrust with coraline and even then it looks funky. Reef epoxy can help filling in the gaps with small rocks.
Try to keep water flow in mind, you don't want to create a lot of still water to gather poop.

Rocks drilled with holes and threaded onto acrylic rods was the way I went. Best thing I ever did, especially for a tall tank.

I drilled my rock and used pvc structures to slip the rock onto. I never liked the zip tie idea, I tried it but I just didnt think it looked as clean. I went with a somewhat minimal look. Its easy to do just about anything you want when it comes to drilling. Here are some images so far of where I am at.
