Bucket Saltwater Shelf Life?

I purchased 2 - 5 gallon buckets of saltwater a week ago, but wasn't able to do a water change. The water has been sitting in the air conditioning, sealed, in an opaque plastic bucket for that time. I was wondering if the water was still good or if the water would go bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It will last forever if it is in a clean container. It is a good idea to aerate water before use if it has been stored.
