What kind of Pump?
I'm putting together a 225g peninsula. What is the best return pump, preferably external.

Need more info. How many GPH? Is energy efficient a must? How much noise can you tolerate?

Energy effieciency is not the main concern and I will have a sound proof cabinet, however it will still be in the living room. 2500 gp.

I've been very happy with my Reeflo Snapper; I use it as the return pump for my 300 gallon tank. It's VERY quiet.
The main issue that people have with direct drive pumps like the Reeflo is that occasionally the seals need to be replaced; this is a relatively simple operation, and they tend not to fail catastrophically. |
