put it in a plastic tote with a heater and water pump for circulation is all you need.

large rubbermade tub, with a few airstones running really strong does well. Keep it at room temperature. If you have a pump or protein skimmer, set that up on the rock in the tub as well. Consider setting some lights over it with a timer also if you are trying to keep the coraline going on it as well.

the closer you can go to aquarium type conditions for it, the better it will do.
occasional water change, calcium addition, etc. I kept a huge cattle waterer style rubber made trough of rock at one point, put two halides over it, a bunch of aragonite in the bottom and used the outlet/drain from it to hook to an external pump powering an ETSS skimmer. That was some of the best looking rock when all was said and done. -S |

aptasia
It can be hard to eradicate. Personally I would by cheap base rock and possibly get one or two good peices of good live rock when you set up the tank. I think patience is the key. There is no sense in putting in rock that has critters on it in my opinion.

it depends on how much aptisia you are talking about and how determined you are to clear it up. Some determination with Kalkawasser or lemon juice and a syringe will get rid of most of them. Also Copper Banded Butterfly fish eat them up......
