water surge
So about every 30 seconds the water coming from the tank down into the wet/dry will surge and hit the inside top of the wet/dry tray. It's causing some salt creep but no other problems other than that. I was just wondering if anyone knows why it's doing this? I'm running a quiet one 3000 on a 55 gal tank. Thanks!

Your overflow is getting a bubble of air trapped and when the water above it has enough weight it pushes it down causing a surge. My old HOB overflow did this until I put a piece of air line down the drain tube. The other fix its to do a durso stand pipe, or use larger drain piping. IE if you have 1 inch drain go to 1.5 inch.

I "was" having a similar surging issue with two 1.5" durso overflows pipes in my overflow. The air line tubing solved the problem....Brilliant! |
