Has this ever happened to anyone????
Good morning all.
I think this is amazing! I turned on my tank light and as usual I would inspect my Tank and make sure nothing has changed. Well this morning something did change and I couldn't believe my eyes. On my magnetic algae remover something was attacted to it I brought it closer but I still couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was a baby clam. I had a clam at one time in the very beginning but It died. That was many moons ago (months). So my question is how did this happen? How did this baby clam get in my tank? I think that my sea urchant picked him up some were in my tank and he ended up on the magnet last night because he wasn't there yesterday when I used it to clean the glass of my tank. Wow, that's cool. I would say it came in on live rock.

Congratulations one the free critter! Are you sure it's a clam? A picture would help, but how many shells does it have? If it just appeared, it is more likely a snail or a limpet. Either way - cool!
It most likely hitchhiked in on something, and where there is one, there can be many more. Keep looking for new stuff at different times of the day and night. You may very well be surprised again. And again. That is one of my favorite parts of this hobby.

It's an adult ark shell. They're common hitchhikers on live rock and can use their foot to climb around on the glass.

I was doing a online search for ark clams but the clams shell in my tank don't look like that. Should I worry about this little clam in my tank?
