Aiptasia with lemon juice = collateral damage?

Recently, I noticed a bunch of aiptasia multiplying on my little LR (about 4in long - 3 in wide - 1.5 in high) I bought a long time ago and I wanted to remove them through lemon juice or hot water. However, this same LR is full of life (a couple of feather dusters, some 'pods, some little white worms, and a few things I can't identify). Will lemon juice cause collateral damage or should I use something else like Aiptasia-X?

Aiptasia-x works well how large is your tank I would not want to use a lot of lemon juice in a small tank it will effect ph.

Lemon juice won't harm anything as lomg as you don't do all of them at one time. Just do a few every other day. Aptasia x works great I have used both methods and they both do a great job as well as peppermint shrimp. If you robust lemon juice make sure it's the concentrated lemon juice and use a syringe and get it at the base of the body and try not to go all the way through.

I have a 30gal tank with ~35lb of LR, ~30lb of sand. My ph around 8.4

for using lemon juice on the aptasia, you have to take the rock out of the water right? because I also have a bad aptasia problem.

Try injecting a kalk slurry. It works and its good to add anyway.

Your tank being a 30 gallon i would definitely do some aptasia every other day al it doesnt affect your ph. And Winvarg to answer your question... No there's no need to take the rock out but if you want to get every single one then it's best to get the rock in the tank and turn it to find them all but no need to remove it.

+1 that always seemed to work for me. as far as collateral damage, wouldn't worry about what you explained unless you have an aiptasia in the midst of a colony of zoanthids, then you may have some.

I used lemon juice with ph down. I guess any acid would work. Injected it quickly, so flow didn't carry it away, right into the base of the aiptasia. A few hrs later aiptasia looked fine, half a day later aiptasia looked fine. The next day it was gone. A month later its histroy. I think its a method of killing one at a time.

If you inject quick the aiptasia cops the brunt. Surrounding sponges, tunicates and coraline fine.

I'm new to sw tanks and basically inherited a tank with some aiptasia in it so I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of it. If I go the lemon juice method, how much do I inject into it? 0.5ml, 1ml, ?? Also, I have 3 large aiptasia that I could inject, but the other 15 or so are very small and would be impossible to inject... how do I get rid of those?

Thanks!

They say inject about 2ml or until you see it shoot out a white stream from the mouth. And to get rid of the little ones you would pretty much have to wait till they are bigger or get some aptasia x and take Ben out with that.
