pencil urchin eating my ricordea?
anyone experienced this before? I believe my newly added urchin is eating my orange rics. He is camped out in a cavern right next to a few ricordea. He doesnt venture far but I saw him near the rics the other day and now one of them is about 1/4th the size.

I dont know about pencil urchins, but i have a long spine in my 150 that took a liking to a patch of green hairy mushrooms. He ate all but one of them. Luckly the colony restarted from just that one, but i would say its a possibility.

It depends on the species. Eucidaris tribuloides, for example, is carnivorous and will eat zoanthids, etc. That said, most species are herbivores - although some will turn omnivorous if they can't find enough plant material. You should probably try to positively ID what you're dealing with.
