Post Hermit crab molting, remove it or keep in the tank?

My hermit crab molted last night, and I am wondering if I should remove the exoskeleton from the tank or leave it in. If I leave it in, how long should I leave it in there? Will he munch on it for nutrition? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

You can leave it. It won't hurt anything and will breakdown in time. I don't bother pulling out my hermit molts. Sometimes i will grab the cleaner shrimp molts, but they are large and often get stuck on the side of my powerheads.

How big is the tank? If it's super small, it may be beneficial to remove it (admittedly probably not by much). I think the point here is that it's a bigger deal in a 1g pico than a 300g reef

It's a 20 gallon tank, and only have 2 crabs, sea urchin, clown, and dragonet.

Remove it.
It is never a good idea to leave dead tissue in your tank if it can be removed.
