Leveling problems :(
Unfortunately I had to tear down my tank today because as its settling in on my hardwood floors its becoming more and more unlevel. Its very weird because I had my 75 gallon in the same exact spot about 4 months ago and it was perfectly level. I just about tried everything to get it level and no luck.
It wasn't off all that much but it was leaning forward about 1/4" inch on one side and an 1/8" on the other. Didn't want to chance it. Kind of suck as I was just finishing up on the cycle . I did transfer all the rocks and sand to my 75 gallon in the garage to keep the cycle going but I am completely frustrated on what to do. Its definitely the floor thats off so what are my options? Its basically the only place to put my tank. Any one have any ideas on how I can level the floors before placing the tank there? |

Kfig,
im guessing this is on a crawlspace? if so, you can either get some floor jacks from home depot or some cinder blocks and brace it from underneath. I did this for my 180

Sounds to me like you may need to have a foundation contractor come in and take a look. I doubt you are going to have much in the way of results short of that.

The house is on a concrete slab and the wood floor is directly on the slab?

If you tank continues to become more unlevel as you put more water in it then the floor can not be directly on the concrete. Concrete doesn't move. If it is directly on the concrete then build a box the size of the base of your stand and go to Home Depot and buy some quick dry leveling cement. Mix it runny and it will level its self out! It works very well.
Good luck and keep us posted!
