A little more info, tank size, are all those the only fish, how long has it been running.. Is there enough flow to create oxygen, you might wanna slow down when adding stuff..

How old is the tank? How big is the tank? What kind of filtration? Live rock? Water params, with numbers. Without any of this info, it's hard to help, but it sounds like too much, too soon. Your biological filtration has likely not kept up with the new bio-load.

Definitely too much livestock too soon. An anemone should not be in your tank at this time. Minimum 6 months is the rule. Slow down. Damsels, Clowns, two Yellow Tangs and a Coral beauty is way too much fish for a 6 week old 55.

You need to slow way down. Everytime you ad something to the tank it will go through a mini cycle because the bacteria have to catch up to the load. It could last 5 minutes or it could be much longer.
You should never ad an anemone to a new tank. The tank should be at least 6 months old or longer.
Id check your pars again as it might be cycling again.
Never put 2 tangs of the same species in together they will fight. Tangs need a bigger tank than a 55 anyway.
You could try adding some amquel plus (be sure its the plus and do what the direstions say) if the ammonia or nitrate is up again.
When adding fish to a new tank you should ad 1 and then wait a few weeks before adding another.
I'd suggest you do alot more reading here.
My 55 has been a reef for 27 years and I only have 5 fish in it. You dont want to overload it and saltwater fish need a lot of room as they have territories.

Thanks for the help.

I guess I'm getting very bad advice from my "so called" fish expert.

My fish guy said he had the anemone in the shop for a few months and that the tangs would be fine(both species and tank size wise).

Way too many fish for a 55g, PERIOD in my opinion...

Thats way too much. Not to mention you will want a bigger tank long term for tangs. Especially if you have more than one. Anemones are not something you add to the tank right away. Not to mention what kind of lighting do you have for it? It could be the anemone alone that is cycling that tank. Ive seen a lot of LFS give bad advice. You are best off looking online or asking us for advice on what to get and make sure your patient as that is the key to success in this hobby. Its been 9 months and I'm finally going to have my first anemone this coming week.

Yup, problem as above. To help alleviate it, do frequent water changes, +/1 Amquel. Hope your fish make it. Or, return a few to the LFS uintil you can add them in a week or 2.

Stop doing business with him, or just stop listening to him if he has good deals/healthy animals.

What are the odds of that if this is how he is telling this guy to stock his tank?
