Adding a trigger

i was looking at adding a niger trigger but i had a few questions. ive read that alot of people have had success with other fish but the charts say no.

i currently have 2 tomato clows a bangii cardinal a flame angel 2 turbo snail and a few hermits.

would adding a yellow eye kole tang and a niger trigger to this bunch be bad. i know nigers could pick at the inverts but i wanted to add a watchman goby too.

is this a bad idea?

what size tank?

plan on keeping corals or inverts? Chances are likely the niger trigger will demolish an invert population.
The clowns should be okay. Not sure about the cardinal. I think the angel should be okay too.

If this is for your 75 that you mentioned in another thread, I would suggest skipping the trigger -- any trigger.

75g? Don't do it.

minimum tank size, 70g. I wouldn't even keep a small trigger in a 75g. Not nearly enough swimming room.

i think no unless u have a well fed large tank and even then, trigger will gobble everything up and beat up the rest.

You are not geting "roasted" as you describe. All of the posts here have kindly advised that geting a trigger for your 75 gallon tank is not a good idea. No one has so advised in an aggressive or rude tone. I have owned quite a few different triggers over the years. If you plan on housing a trigger with tankmates, a 75 is really way too small. I have trouble housing most triggers with tankmates in my 6 foot 125.

I won't get into what size fish needs what size tank, but comparing the growth you see in a clown versus the growth you see in a trigger is like comparing the growth of a chihuahua to the growth of a great dane (actually technically worse). They are two different animals with two largely different growth patterns.

Juvi's are great. THen they grow up and become buttheads. You aren't getting roasted, you are just being told it's a bad idea and keep coming back to say you read something else.

Fish have individual personalties.
One guy might put a Niger trigger in a 75 and get away with it. That doesn't necessarily mean that the next guy that tries it will.
I have seen Niger triggers with calm demeanors and I have seen others that were mean as hell.
When someone describes a fish's temperament it is a rough guidline, not a garauntee.
I would have to go with everyone else though and advise against it.
A Niger trigger is not attractive enough to warrant the possible headaches.
