Hey so ive noticed brown stuff springing up on my sand bed its now growing on my live rock, im assuming as ive been told my cycle is ending with only nitrates showing, I think ots time to add some cuc, and better circulation. Any suggestions since I currently dont have a sump nor a Skimmer should i invest in sone macro algae perhaps a small cheato ball in my DT or hmm any suggestions? Thanks guys for the time to read and offering me some advice.

Hi-There, Id suggest turbo snails for removing diatoms on rocks and glass, dont add too many, they will starve to death if theres too many, however i would suggest your 100% certain you are cycled before adding any snails as inverts wont tolerate ammonia poisoning, when your done and your sure do a 25% water change first and a couple of days later add some snails, 6 will do in a 20 gallon for now.

What's your most recent water parameter readings? If still just showing nitrates, do a 25% water change & add 5 or 6 turbos to the mix. Make sure to temp acclimate the bag for about 15 min., then drip acclimate them for at least 45 min.

IF you don't have a sump, where are you planning to contain macroalgae?
