Best Supplies
I have a 30 gallon saltwater tank. I am looking for the best ideas for set up. I have the Fluval 405 and a good heater. What kind of air flow would you use? Is a protein skimmer required? I am looking to do a fish only tank 2 clowns anemone and a maybe a hippo. What would be the best cleaning crew? how many? Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

a hippo is way to small for a 30 gal tank.

for a fish only tank, a protein skimmer isn't necessary. Just stay up on the waterchanges and watch how much food doesn't get eaten and ends up on the sand. Run carbon to help polish the water, keep it clear. as for the clean up crew, start off with a small assortment of them and slowly add them if they aren't keeping things clean.

Make sure you clean out the Fluval frequently (like once a week) also
